ABOUT
Sometimes a hang out turns into a band. Just ask LEMES!
Formed in 2024, LEMES is an Indonesian band based in Melbourne that came together the way many good things do: friends who like to hang, jam, and keep trying new ideas until something clicks. The lineup includes Rama, Syifa, Chelsea, Domi, and Caryn (vocals), Jonathan (keys), Judah and Julian (guitars), Owen (percussion), Theo (drums), and Deo (bass). With backgrounds as varied as the sounds they pull into the room, the band moves across genres while keeping tight musicianship at the centre.
With a sound rooted in pop-jazz and shaped by diverse creative and technical backgrounds, LEMES is guided by the motto “redefining the scale of independent creatives.” They are a laidback act that’s flexible with style, but consistent in feel. We are most definitely locked in but playful!
LEMES’ first debut release, Incognito, marks the next step in that journey. Based in Melbourne, the band continues to build its audience through venue sets and curated stages, with plans to take the music to the streets through future busking sessions; because sometimes the best way to meet new listeners is simply to show up and play.

Nandasrama Y. Basuki (Rama)
Nandrasrama Yogianto Basuki is a recording engineer, vocalist, and guitarist for Lemes. Rama’s relationship with music began early. He started singing and playing from the age of three, and more recently began writing songs of his own, translating lived moments into intimate melodies and lyrics. Bringing both musical sensitivity and engineering discipline, he’s committed to delivering work that feels honest, clear, and carefully crafted.
Owen Ainslie (Owen)
Owen Ainsley is a percussionist, who in person is soft and cutesy, then the stage lights hit and he turns mighty, locked in, and completely in his element. He has been drumming for nine years and is currently switching into percussion while keeping the groove steady.
As a biomedical science student, he brings that same calm focus and detail to his playing, listening closely, staying precise, and keeping everything grounded.
Julian A. Tjahja (Julian)
Julian is a guitarist with a wide musical palette and a seriously curious ear. He worked behind the scenes as an assistant engineer for Barry Likumahuwa, bringing studio discipline and detail into everything he plays.
He has been playing since Grade 6, first picking up the guitar because of his dad, and he has kept going ever since. His influences jump genres without blinking, from J-rock and J-pop to metal, math rock, jazz, and blues, shaping a sound that is both versatile and precise.

Dominique S. Hetharia (Domi)
Dominique Hetharia is a vocalist who is known for swift, clean riffs and runs that bring extra lift to every melody. Indonesian-born and raised in Australia, she grew up surrounded by music through family, church, school, and lessons, with harmony and live jamming at the core of how she learned to sing.
Rooted in Gospel, R&B, Soul, and Funk, Domi brings both technical agility and pure joy onstage. If the groove hits, she’s most definitely dancing!
Theodore E. Tjahjana (Theo)
Theodore E. Tjahjana is a Bandung-born drummer for Lemes with eight years behind the kit and nearly six years in music production. He started with rock, then fell hard for jazz, chasing the finesse, dynamics, and freedom that comes with it.
He’s the quiet one until he sits at the drums, then he becomes the engine of the room. A former first-place school drum competition winner, Theo brings both stage power and studio discipline, locking the groove in and pushing every set and release forward.
Judah Adisurya (Judah)
Judah Adisurya is a guitarist and mastering engineer at Lemes. As the band’s main guitarist, he shapes its sound both on stage and in the final mix with equal precision.
Having played guitar for 17 years, he draws part of his phrasing from saxophonist Dave Koz, giving his lines a melodic, vocal quality that can make the guitar shout and cry in the same breath. In mastering, he takes inspiration from Chris Gehringer, focusing on clarity, balance, and impact in the final polish.

Jonathan Hendratno (Johen)
Jonathan is a music director, keyboardist, and mixing engineer at Lemes. With over five years of experience in the creative industry, he continues to expand his creative journey through his own small production house based in Jakarta and Hong Kong.

Amadeus B. Anggaraksa (Deo)
Deo is a bassist with nine years of experience, driven by a love for 80s funk and grooves that know exactly when to sit back and when to push a song forward. Beyond music, he’s deeply engaged with world history, bringing a broad perspective and sharp curiosity into the way he listens and creates.
Soft-spoken offstage, Deo is all confidence on the bass. He lets his fingers do the talking, locking in the foundation with precision, taste, and feel.
Chelsea F. Mohede (Chelsea)
Chelsea Mohede is a Manado-born vocalist at Lemes, known for a soulful tone and a bold, powerful voice that naturally commands the room. When she sings, people notice; not because she tries to, but because her delivery is that full and that convincing.
Offstage, Chelsea is the cheerful spark of the team, bringing heart to every performance, and a little extra joy to everything in between.
